Foods you should never give to your dog

Have you ever noticed how sadly your canine companion looks at you when you are eating a piece of delicious chocolate cake or avocado toast? Sometimes we cannot stand the sadness in their cute eyes and give them a part of our food. Being a dog owner means more than walks and games with him; it’s also about maintaining their well-being and health. When it comes to the latter, the first thing we think about is his diet. Dogs like humans also need a healthy and balanced diet, otherwise, they will experience a hard time suffering from various diseases. It’s important to know that there are some products you should exclude from his diet to avoid health problems.

Raw meat, fish and eggs
It might seem surprising, but raw meat, fish and eggs are actually bad for dogs’ health. They have bacteria and parasites that can cause digestive problems like vomiting and diarrhea. If you want to feed your doggo with these products, make sure they are cooked very well.

Chocolate
Yes, yes, our most favorite craving is too harmful to our furry friends. Because of an ingredient called methylxanthine, which has a negative impact on a dog’s metabolism, we should avoid including this in their diet. A small amount can cause diarrhea and vomiting, while a large amount can lead to blindness, shedding and even death.

Avocado
Avocado toast may be the most favorite breakfast for most of us, but when it comes to dogs, we should keep in mind that it’s extremely unhealthy for them. The substance called persin contained in avocados can cause not only digestive problems but also heart congestion in dogs. Let’s not forget about the seed, which, in case of swallowing, can get stuck in the stomach and be fatal for your canine buddy.

Garlic and onions
These two veggies offer a number of benefits for humans. However, dogs can get anemia because of them as they kill blood cells in dogs’ blood. Consuming large amounts can lead to breathing problems, weakness, and poisoning.

Sugary foods/drinks, baked goods, and peanut butter
All of us are aware of the harmful effects they can cause if we consume too much of them. The same goes for our pooches, as they can cause obesity and dental problems in them. Except for these, they contain a substance called xylitol, which triggers an insulin rush in your dog’s body, thus inducing blood sugar drops and liver failure.

Dairy products
Ice cream, cheese, milk and other dairy products can put your dog’s health in danger. Gastrointestinal disorders, pancreatitis, vomiting, and diarrhea will be inevitable if your dog consumes them, as they cannot process the substances present in cow milk products.
So, keep these foods in mind so that you can avoid health problems in your doggo.
